Mentor Training Centre has been a successful Training Provider for the past 25 years and continues to be so, specialising in training programmes for Dental Nurses with currently around 150 candidates throughout Glasgow, the Central Belt, Dumfries & Galloway, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire.

We employ a team of committed, fully qualified staff with many years of occupational experience whose aim is to ensure qualification with minimum disruption within the surgery during monitoring visits. The assessor will plan and organise suitable times for giving knowledge, under taking assessments, observing workbase tasks and providing constructive feedback on performance. All assessors demonstrate high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy. In addition to regular monitoring visits, the candidate is encouraged to attend weekly tutorials on completion of portfolio in preparation for final examination (VRQ).

Managing Director Mr. Normand founded the company in 1985. The dental team is lead by our Centre Manager Moira McKenna who has been with the company for 21 years. Other members include Janette Grant tutor/assessor/IV (10 years), Christine Stewart assessor/IV (9 years), Donna Clarke assessor/IV (8 years) and Lesley Anne Dall assessor/IV (4 years).

Our admin team is headed by Lorraine Williams who has also been with the company for 21 years. Centre co-ordinator Kip McCready (12 years), Finance Officer Ann MacLean (8 years), Ashley Ramsay (7 years) and Nikki Gibbons (2 years).

As an "Approved Training Organisation" we have been assessed by the Local Enterprise Companies against vigorous criteria including Training Standards and Competence, Organisational Ability, Programme Design and Delivery, Staff Development and Health and Safety. In addition, we have been awarded S.Q.M.S (Scottish Quality Management Systems) and I.I.P (Investigators in People) status.

Please note: Entire programme is FREE OF CHARGE to all candidates under 20 years of age. A fee will be arranged for candidates over the age of 20.
